Excel to website
Turn an Excel workbook from a hard-to-share table into a fast, structured website with search, filters and a mobile-ready view, choosing between a published data snapshot or admin tools that validate and import later files.

What are we actually building?
Customers or staff reach the right information from one clear link instead of circulating workbook copies. Rejected data is reported before publishing, with an explicit source-of-truth definition for every sheet and column.
Clear detail before the first payment
Each item becomes reviewable scope and acceptance criteria in the proposal; integrations and data volumes receive written limits.
Workbook audit and data mapping
We inspect every sheet, header, relationship and formula, then identify names, prices, states and unique keys. Before coding, you get a map of what is published, calculated or kept internal, so a changed workbook version cannot quietly reshape the website.
Data cleaning and normalisation
Dates, numbers, currencies, blanks and duplicates are normalised, while ambiguous issues are separated for an owner decision. The source is never silently rewritten: each run reports accepted and rejected rows with reasons that can be reviewed.
Validated import with an error report
Imports check required columns, value types and duplicates before publishing. A bad row neither disappears nor breaks the rest of the data; it enters a reviewable reject report and can be corrected and retried away from the live website.
Fast search, filters and sorting
Important columns become useful search, filters and sorting instead of one long table. We define whether people search by product, code, area or state, and add pagination or progressive loading when volume requires it so speed remains predictable.
Clear mobile and desktop views
Data is not squeezed into a wide desktop table on a small screen. We choose cards, a responsive table or separate detail views, keep essential fields visible and reveal secondary data intentionally, then test key sizes and keyboard access.
Admin workspace for workbook updates
Where a plan includes administration, an authorised user uploads a new file to preview, reviews differences and validation errors, then approves publishing. We define whether a run replaces or merges by unique key, and who may restore the previous version.
Explicit business rules instead of opaque formulas
Formulas that affect results become written, testable rules rather than unexplained cell copies. Rounding, tax, exceptions and the source of each result are documented, then an agreed sample is reconciled against Excel before acceptance.
Access control for private data
Internal websites separate roles, prevent public access and validate uploaded files instead of executing their content. Passwords and keys stay outside workbooks and source code; backup retention and sensitive audit events are agreed per plan.
Documented, client-owned handover
Record counts and totals are reconciled against the acceptance sample, then we hand over the column map, import rules, deployment process and backup method. Source, accounts and domain belong to the client after payment, whether you self-manage or retain TechMate.
Role-based access without shared administrator accounts
The quantity or limit and review criterion are stated in the proposal before work starts.
Validation, error states and audit history for critical actions
The quantity or limit and review criterion are stated in the proposal before work starts.
Testing with sample data before production use
The quantity or limit and review criterion are stated in the proposal before work starts.
Training, handover and documentation for delivered scope
The quantity or limit and review criterion are stated in the proposal before work starts.
Every stage has an output you review
Turn your workbook into a fast searchable website with filters, mobile-ready views, validated imports and optional admin tools.
Define scope
Map goals, users, data and integrations, then state what is inside and outside the price.
Design or prototype
Review the journey, screens and states before committing most build time.
Build in stages
Create a reviewable version and connect functions and data in a controlled environment.
Acceptance testing
Test core journeys, errors and permissions against an agreed sample.
Launch and handover
Deploy or hand over source, accounts and documentation, then clarify post-launch ownership.
We map the operation before any number
We start with a free analysis session covering users, permissions, processes and integrations, then present a scope, a delivery plan and a tailored proposal.
- A sample workbook with sensitive data removed
- Number of sheets, rows and important columns
- Whether the website is public or internal
- Required search, filters, pages or reports
- Update frequency and any existing domain or hosting
Prefer a call or a meeting?
The route above is the quickest way in for this request, not the only one. If you would rather talk it through by phone or meet online — even for a small job — just say so and we will arrange it whenever suits you, at no charge.
Why is there no fixed number here?
Because the same service changes shape between projects: pages or screens, integrations, languages, and who writes the content. We price after understanding what you need, so you only pay for what your project uses — and we have plans for small, mid-sized and large businesses alike.
Pick the plan that matches where you are now
Build quality is identical across plans. What changes is how much we run and how much you take over — which follows the size of your operation, not your budget.

- ✓Training and handover session plus priority care within scope
- ×Third-party subscriptions and ad spend sit outside the build
- ×Material scope or usage expansion needs a further agreement
None of them quite fits? We will build one around you.
Right when your priorities differ, you want pieces from more than one plan, or you have a particular budget or deadline constraint.
- Scope built around what matters to you, not around a template
- Take features from one plan and leave parts of another
- Phase it if you would rather start small and grow
- Both the work and the price follow exactly what is required
These plans are a starting point for the conversation, not fixed templates. Both the work and the price follow what is actually required — any plan can be adjusted, extended or trimmed around your priorities.
Large projects are not paid in one lump sum
Payment is staged, and each stage is released against your approval of a real output rather than the passing of time. These shares become written amounts in the proposal, and any scope change is agreed before it is built.
| Milestone | Share | Released when |
|---|---|---|
| Project booking and scope approval | 20% | After you approve the stage output |
| UX or architecture approval | 25% | After you approve the stage output |
| Working preview build | 25% | After you approve the stage output |
| Pre-launch acceptance | 20% | After you approve the stage output |
| Launch and final handover | 10% | After you approve the stage output |
Who owns it and who manages it?
The client owns the domain and accounts. “Included” means TechMate manages the stated setup or cost for the written term; it never means TechMate owns the asset instead of the client.
Operating core
Domain and hosting are excluded; we deploy to client-owned hosting or hand over the source.
Operations
Managed hosting and SSL for one year, on a new domain in the client’s name, their existing domain or a techmate-hub.com subdomain.
Integrated
Plus infrastructure with monitoring, backups and small monthly updates for one year.
Before we start, we agree where the site lives: a TechMate subdomain such as yourbrand.techmate-hub.com, your existing domain, or a new domain we buy in your name. We also write down the hosting term, usage limits, year-one price, renewal method and who receives billing reminders.
When is the work considered delivered?
Scope
Listed functions, screens and pages pass the approved acceptance checklist.
Data
Samples or migration reconcile to written rules and rejected records appear in a report.
Access and security
Each role can only view and act within scope; credentials are not shared in code or documents.
Handover
The plan’s accounts, source, backup, documentation and training have been delivered.
Questions before ordering
Does the website update whenever I edit Excel?+
Not automatically in every plan. The entry plan publishes an approved snapshot. Higher plans can add an admin upload with preview and an error report before publishing. Live sync with OneDrive or another cloud source is a separate integration whose permissions, refresh interval and failure handling are scoped first.
Will every formula and macro move across unchanged?+
We audit formulas that affect results and rebuild them as testable website rules. Macros, pivot tables and external links are not copied blindly; we define their intended outcome and build the appropriate replacement when it is in scope. Acceptance samples reconcile important results against the workbook.
Do you alter the original workbook or risk losing data?+
We never silently edit the original. Work happens on a copy, rejected or ambiguous values enter a report, and data-owner approval is required before cleaning rules change meaning. Record counts and key totals are reconciled against an agreed sample at handover.
Can the website stay private and out of Google?+
Yes. It can be public and search-ready, or internal with login, permissions and no indexing. A hidden URL is not security: private data requires authentication, access control and suitable hosting within the selected scope.
Is there a maximum workbook size?+
Excel has its own limits, while practical performance depends on rows, images, formulas, search behaviour and update frequency. We test a real sample and state record, file-size, upload and response-time limits. Larger sets move into a database and import pipeline rather than reading the workbook on every visit.
Can users download data or export a report?+
We can add download or export for approved fields, but it is not enabled by default, particularly for internal data. The proposal states format, filters, permissions and sensitive-data rules, and records exports when the project requires an audit trail.
Why is there no price on this page?+
Because the same service changes shape between projects — pages or screens, integrations, languages, and who writes the copy and supplies the images. A fixed number would either overcharge you or under-describe the work. We price once we understand what you need, and you get it in writing before anything starts.
Can we do a call or a meeting instead of messaging?+
Of course, at any point. The route described above is simply the quickest way in for this request, not a condition. If you would rather have a phone call or an online meeting — whatever the size of the request — tell us a time that suits you and we will arrange it, free of charge.
Is the consultation charged?+
No. The initial review, the scoping and the proposal are all free and commit you to nothing. There is no obligation until you approve a written proposal.
I have a set budget — can we work within it?+
Yes, and it helps to say so early. We order the scope by priority, start with the part that actually moves the needle, and add the rest in later phases. Sharing a budget is optional and never a condition for talking to us.
Who owns source code, domain and accounts?+
The client owns source, accounts and domain after project payment. TechMate management of hosting or renewals never changes ownership or blocks transfer.
Are domain and hosting included?+
Each plan states its exact position in the domain and hosting section. The first plan usually runs on client infrastructure, while the higher plans add management or a defined hosting term when the service needs it.
What happens when scope changes?+
We classify the request as an in-scope correction or a scope change. New scope receives a written cost, timeline and impact before implementation.
Does support include new features?+
Support covers defects and agreed operations for the plan term. A new page, module or integration is additional development unless the plan explicitly includes a monthly change batch.
Can I pay in stages?+
Yes. This service uses the milestones shown above, each released against your approval of a real output, with amounts written into the proposal before we start.
Send us your current setup and we will recommend the right plan
We will ask about users, data, integrations, hosting and deadline, then send written scope, proposal and payment milestones.
